I have an AMD FX-9590 8-Core 4.7GHz (Black Edition) on a MSI 990FXA-GD80 V2 Motherboard.
I have never overclocking a CPU and my question is; is it really worth overclocking? Will I see a difference by doing it???

My MSI mobo comes with a function called OC Genie II
Is it safety using the automated CPU overclocking?

OC Genie II – Overclock & Unlock CPU Core in 1 Second

OC Genie II, the most powerful and easy overclocking technology is implemented on MSI's AMD 9-Series motherboards. MSI's OC Genie II completely automates advanced overclocking functions and offers up to 248% higher performance with the simple click of a button. It does not matter if you're a first time hardware owner, or a veteran overclocker, activating MSI OC Genie II will unlock your hidden CPU cores, overclock your CPU and your memory to simply give you the best and stable performance for free on MSI AMD 9-Series motherboard available.

Benefits:
- Automatically overclock & unlock hidden CPU core(s) in 1 second
- Instantly boost system performance up to 248%

Solution
auto-overclocking is safe and should never push your CPU too far. The 9590 is HOT and you should have a really good aftermarket cooler on it. As for manual overclocking, the 9590 is not the best chip for a first-timer, as you can't really push it that far. Just use the auto-overclocking.

For cooling I have the Corsair Hydro Extreme H100i with dual 120mm fans.

That's a pretty good cooler, though it is not designed to really exceed ~1.275V. I'm not sure what Voltage your CPU currently runs at, but I doubt you'll get a significant increase on a chip like the 9590 using a closed loop cooler.

CPU Voltage: 1.5250 V

Voltage is too high. Do you want to burn your cpu?
Overclocking by any software is always dangerous, uses high voltage, produce more heat and not programmed well. Not even from AMD overdrive. Best method is to do overclocking from Bios.
Because it needs less voltage, higher oc and if also increase the processor live comparable to oc by software. Also If you get Any manual settings and of you go for that then the oc will be unstable and will produce more heat. You must go step step. First Download the AMD overdrive software which is available on official AMD website to monitor your temps correctly and Just follow this Steps:
1) just enable your XMP memory profile if your memory support that.
2) increase the cpu ratio from factory settings a little(whichever smallest possible) and boot in your os.
3) Download cpu stress testing software prime95 and do a stress test around 20 minutes.
4) if it passes then restart and go in bios, increase a little cpu ratio again a little bit.
5) if it passes then repeat 4th method. And if it not passes then go in bios and increase the CPU voltage and again test. Just keep doing that.
6) a time will arrive when the temp will gone so high, at that time you have to stop and keep it to cool.
7) also when doing upper methods you have to keep a eye on your temps.
8) a step will arrive when prime95 will never pass or the temp will gone so high immediately when stress test started, that point you have to stop and you get the unleashed speed of your processor. You got a stable oc now.
Best luck:)

You can monitor you temps by Hwmonitor as well but if you find that it showing more temp then best way is AMD overdrive. But remember it counts down not up. It will show thermal margin means temps remain to overheat. Don't push till the margin go to 0. Best luck. I hope your overclocking will be good. :)

I have tried the automated overclocked software OC Genie II and it messed it up everything...
The performance it actually dropped from the original 4700.0 MHz to 4600.0 MHz.

One question before I start with the manual overclocking, the system changed my Ram speed to 1333 (I have a G.SKill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133). My CPU supports 1866 Ram but it is an unlocked processor Black Edition)
Should I set my Ram back to 1866 or auto?
