Hello there I have a intel core 2 quad q6600 with a gigabyte ga-946gmx-s2 motherboard and I wanted to overclock the cpu to 2.60-2.70 ghz (with tape mod) and every I go to the post screen the pc shuts off, if I reset the cmos with removing the battery the pc works fine. How I solve this problem?

Solution
Overclocking, by definition, is working outside the guaranteed specifications of the system. Sometimes it works and sometimes is doesn't. Since it behaves the same every time it seems to fail reliably. It looks like overclocking doesn't work on your system.
