overclock i3 6100 not working

using my asrock z170 pro4, i change my bclk to 125 and vcore to 1.4 to get 4.625mhz target cpu speed. that bumps up my ram speed to above 2400, which is what my ram is rated at.

when i adjust my dram frequency back to 2400, save changes and exit, restart, and open hwinfo, i notice that my cpu is still at 3.7ghz rather than 4.625, and my memory clock says 1200mhz.

what is going on? am i doing something wrong?

I had similar problem. After changing DDR freq back to rated speed, CPU was stuck at 3.7 no matter what BCLK I set. Turns out I needed to clear CMOS by pulling battery to reset between attempts. Not sure if the same with yours, as I have a different board, but maybe worth a try.
