Hello, let me start by saying that I've seen numerous threads/videos/posts for overclocking, but from what I gathered everything seems dependent on each individuals system so I felt I better ask. I'm also finding it difficult to find a noob guide to overclocking, all the one's I've been able to find seem like they're directed to someone who already knows what they're doing, and I find myself getting lost as to whats been discussed. I just wanted to find a nice step by step guide to do it. Before that even, I'm not sure if I should be doing it in the first place, as I have stock cooling so I wanted opinions on that as well.
Again, I know this has been posted a million times, I apologize and thank you for your patience.
Here is my set up.

you have not listed what cpu cooler you have. if your going to overclock anything past 4.0ghz, your going to need a cooler. temps will rise very quickly after that.

its all the same for motherboards. just plug in a 42 or 43x multiplier/ratio and start from there. that guide has all the info you need for basic overclocking.
