Is it possible to overclock the i7 2600 to 4.2-4.4 GHz? I was able to overclock up to 3.9 GHz. 4.4 GHz or only in one core?
My motherboard - ASUS P8Z77-V LX

Upon further reading you are able to overclock a CPU by increasing the front-side bus frequency. You seemed to have done it. You aren't able to increase it that much though because other components are connected to the Front-Side Bus. (http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/273610-29-overclock-intel-2500-4ghz).
You can't overclock a i7-2600 as those are locked processors. An unlocked processor will always have a K after it (Or an x for the Extreme processors which can be overclocked). You would need to open it up and edit the processor yourself if you wanted to unlock it. I don't recommend you to do that (It is difficult and you can damage your processor). The "overclock" you gave it is likely a Turbo Boost. Though that is a little over the normal turbo boost (3.8 GHz).

I overclocked to ~ 4.1 GHz. Rose to 105 bus and the multiplier to x39 (X42 for some reason does not always work, only when there is no load). The temperature in the games of 65-70 degrees Celsius. Can I use it if 24/7? Sorry for my English
