Overclocked AMD vs i Series???

Hi- I'm new to this, looking to build a gaming PC and was wondering which would be better- an overclocked AMD or i Series processor? Are there any dangers to overclocking that I should know about?

I will probably be playing some MMOs and read that they were more CPU intensive so would an i7 be better than an i5? GPUwise was thinking about a GTX 680/ 780/ R9 290x and I don't want the CPU to bottleneck the graphics card.

Ideally want the system to last a few years, will probably use my TV as a monitor. Any ideas on a good build?

You should get the i5 4670k, which in gaming is equal to an i7, and a GTX 770, which is basically an overclocked GTX 680, and it costs about $335
