I'm going to build a PC and I'm planning to get an i3 6100 first and upgrade it to the i5 6600k later. But is the ASUS B150M-A D3 capacle of overclocking the i5? Please let me know. Thanks really much!

Solution

this is what you are going to do, ask your self: are you going to overclock when you upgrade to the new chip?, do you plan to overclock at some point?
if yes: then get a z170 now no matter what CPU you start with, because you will need that board to overclock
if no: then you buy what ever board you want,B150 or H170 whatever up to you, and then you buy what ever CPU without a K name meaning, i5 6500 or i5 6600 or i7 6700, not 6600k not 6700k because they are meant to be overclocked, and you pay extra for that, so if you dont...
no if you want to have SLI one day, you need to select a SLI board that comes with support, (i think they start around 140$ price varies by retailer)
since there is a difference between AMD crossfire support and Nvidia SLI support, Sli support usually first comes up at boards with a little more price

thermal paste comes with the coolers dont worry (unless you select one not suggest i cant guarantee that ofc), but most mid to highend coolers come with own paste, and that paste is more than perfectly fine, no need to spend many dollars on pricy droplets

I just realised a made a mistake. Can i use a H110M asus board instead of the b150?

you can, but generally the b150 is better int terms of connectors, also you cant overclock it, still need z170, if you still plan on the K cpu
so remember to check out what features your board has/changes when switching models incase you wanted/needed some of the features
and remember an "M" is smaller than the regular ATX boards, and sometimes you pay for more the privilege of the smaller form factor
(meaning 2 identical board models, 1 is Z170/or H110 the other same model is Z170M/or H110M, the M =microATX, will cost slightly more)
, so again if you dont "need" the smaller size, i.e the regular ATX size fits in your build, no need to pay more for the "same" just because its smaller
