Overclocking an MSI B450 Gaming Plus

I'm looking to build a budget gaming rig with a ryzen 2600 cpu. i was wondering whether the MSI B450 Gaming Plus would support overclocking as i would like to overclock my cpu. If this board does not support overclocking, are there any good boards out there for around the same price, that do? Thanks!

This board uses a B450 chipset so it will definitely overclock. It looks to have fairly good VRM (for B450 boards) with a decent sized heatsink on the FET's so you can expect moderately high overclocks if your CPU is a silicon lottery winner.

Another ATX board that's a very good overclocker is the MSI B450 Tomahawk which is only a little bit higher cost. It's probably the coolest running VRM with a massive heatsink on the FET's. It's been rated better than many X470 boards for overclocking.

MSI B450 is literally the best mobo you can get for 10k if anyone is planning to build a ryzen build with 1st and 2nd generation ryzen processors.
I’ve paired this mobo with a Ryzen 5 2600x and Sapphire RX Vega 64 and the setup is running flawlessly.
Pros-
1. Overclocking support- Overclocking with this mobo is very easy and user friendly. I overclocked my ryzen 5 2600x to 4.1 GHz without any issues
and overheating of mobo. The max temperature this mobo reached during overclock was 58C , which is a very impressive figure for this
price point. B450 Gaming Plus and B450 Tomahawk are best mobos for overclocking Ryzen 5 CPUs. It is fairly capable of overclocking
Ryzen 7 as well but I would recommend MSI X470 boards for Ryzen 7.
2. BIOS Flashback- This feature might be the most important and more than welcome in all mobos and MSI is the only brand providing this feature. It allows you to
upgrade your mobo BIOS without installing any processor , graphics card, memory etc.

1. Bios Menu- Its bios menu is very user friendly and easy to use. MSI bios menus are the best in terms of user friendliness.
2. Memory Support- The number of variety of rams supported by this mobo is very high. It supports almost all ram brands and ram installation is a breeze.

Overclocking ram with this mobo is very easy. I’ve clocked mine at 3200 Mhz , all four 8GB sticks.

1. STEEL PCI-E – GPU sag is barely noticeable on this mobo because of the steel braced PCI-E slots.
2. 256GB M.2 SSD is performing very good with this mobo.
3. Its has ample amount of fan headers , usb 3.0 ports , usb 3.1 ports , usb 2.0. And the best thing is it has 2 RGB headers for all your RGB lightning needs.
4. MSI Drivers , Softwares & Apps- MSI provides frequent updates for all its drivers and softwares. The softwares availlable with this mobo are very useful.

eg: Mystic Light , Game Centre , Gaming App , etc. Nahimic Audio is also available with it which is one of the best audio softwares.
9. Aesthetics – This mobo is fairly good appearance wise with black and red shades. In my opinion its very hip looking.

Cons- None for me. Boot screen wallpaper could have been better.
