Ram to sync mode and speed step don't show up in BIOS as nammed.

Testing now.

Thats fine, set it to the SPD rated 800 Mhz. 5-6-6-18 and make it 2.05 volts. Then make sure the multiplier is sync mode at 420 FSB, making it 420 x 2 = 840. Thats it. Turning off transaction booster and static read control stopped a few other things from changing the rams sub timings. So you should be fine.

the card is so long it's like a damn ISA relic , and it is double wide with it's giant fan and heatsink. So it hits the ram in the top spot (all the ram slots) and anywhere it goes the hard disk also can't be there.

Manual, auto and NOS are the options, I set it manualy but I noticed it was down to a 6 multiplier without a load again. I did not install the AI software.

Hmm, I am using the 1006 Bios, maybe they made a new way to disable it. I just have a spot that says speed step, and you set disable, hehe!

new screenshots, notice that in one program it shows 9x and the other it shows 6.

mad onion is running now to test for stabillity and improvement in score.

Yeah, I can tell now that CPUz is miss reading it. Look at its current Voltage in CPUz, its where it should be with LLC enabled. If speed step stepped the speed down, the voltage would be cut to under 1.3 for sure, so its just reading it wrong. Looks good!

I always thought that no one would waste time on 6-6-6-18 trash, so I think its just the 5-5-5-15 stuff, they just wanna sell to OEMs and not make it look the same since they sell it cheaper to them!

You may wanna set your north bridge to 1.55 if you experience any trouble, AND this one happens alot:

Next time you re boot at your over clock speeds, press f8 so you get the windows boot menu, and select one. If the screen instantly vanishes, all is well. If it appears to take a noticeable split second, then you may experience weird popping or sluggishness.

To alleviate this you may have to select 333 as the FSB strap to north bridge, then make sure you select a speed close to your current one!

OK.

I also finished the 3D mark test, it picked up 500 points on it's score.
It showed the cpu correctly but it showed 667 as the mem mhz...

I also tried out Age of Conan just to make sure it was ok, no issues there.

I will play around more in the morning, I need sleep.

I have to make the ram and multiplier aren't getting dropped down by ASUS somehow.

It could be in the way that Bios is doing stuff. If your FSB is 420, then the Memory cant be ran Under it. It would have to be 840.

I am sleeping too, later!

Your graphic part of the mark will blow because you cant use yer cards power. When you OC the CPU you usually gain frame rate as well!

If you still need screen shots, let me know! Sorry, I went to an auction type place and grabbed a pair of evga 8800 GT sc's.

Now, what board to get...

I was looking to picture my bios so you could see it.

I may have narrowed down my issue. The game froze today unclocked, I lower my video setting option in the game and have not froze since.
If it makes it through tommorow I will overclock it again and see what happens.

A camera! :) You may wanna lock the PCIe bus to 100 Mhz. How come it never shows you as on line? I could take shots of my Bios, but its yours that we wanna see!

OK, I am going to give the PC a boost, I will set the PCI clocks to 100 and 33. Do you normaly run well with the PCI / PCI-E at higher speeds? I think of raid cards that ran at 133 years ago, I am not sure if the 100 / 33 limits would be impacting things like that.

Not sure, but many Mhz over the normal rating of 100 is prolly bad. As a matter of fact, I don't really know of anyone who does it. Supposedly it should in crease the data throughput of a PCI e expansion card.

I am sure you can try up to 5 Mhz extra and prolly have no problems. I dunno how to test if it helps, but hey! Worth a try!

I was thinking of the hard disks that worked at ata 133, confused them with the PCI bus, so ignore my ramblings.

the PC and game is perfectly stable at 444 x 9 with the mem set at 840ish.

Any idea what temps I can push? I upped the voltage, I have seen as high as 48c immediatly after pushing it with 3d benchmarks, it could be creeping higher during loads but I have not seen it.

Temps, you say? Well then! Down Load Prime 95, and run the Small FFT torture test and then we can talk temps!

You should have, if you dont already. HWMonitor, Prime 95, CPUz, Core Temp, ATI Tools, and Riva Tuner for now.The first 4 are for settings and stability and standard over clockers issue.

The last two are for Video card testing and over clocking.

Get your paws on those and you'll be ready for everything!

I have them all but prime 95. I use sisoft sandra for burn in and stability testing.

I am not oc'ing the card at this time (it is already overclocked for a gts 575gpu /850ddr3

perhaps at a later time I will do it, but for now I just make sure the fan is set at 100% with Riva tuner.

Well. Only Prime 95 and Orthos test fully. That I know of anyways. I am pretty sure there are more. But unless you have tested with one, you dont know what stability is!
