Question Overclocking i7-920 [BEGINNER] on asus p6t

So when i built my pc motherboard came with cpu installed so clock was allready set
And then (2 days ago) i turned my pc on and it said overclocking failed
in that situations i normaly press restart button but now i pressed f10 (reset overclocking settings)
And now i am stuck with a stock 2,67ghz

If you've never OC'ed before, find a good OC guide online for that CPU. OC'ing those older chips that had no unlocked multiplier can get involved. Your board is OK for OC'ing, so if the PSU can handle it, you should be safe to continue. Here is an example.

Btw, check in BIOS to see if the previous OC'er had saved the OC settings to one of the available save locations (if that feature exits in your BIOS)
