Overclocking my i7 3770k 3.5 ghz

Hi guys, thinking about doing this so i can get better results with my xfx r9 280x.
I'm just wondering if i should in the first place, and if so, how?
Would my 525 watt psu be able to support the overclock? it's not 80+ certified.

I got 8gb ram and yeah, thnks guys in advance.

^ If no plans to add another card in Crossfire, then that PSU will be pretty good. Though not that you cannot do Crossfire with that PSU, but with 2+ cards, I would suggest atleast 700W

Also Gold is better but the difference would be say ~5% just going by the rating.
But for that price when comparing other PSUs in that site, the XFX you have chosen is a no-brainer.

EDIT: You can play but maybe just turn the settings down a bit so that they dont put too much load on the CPU/ GPU - which in-turn pulls lot of power.
A 500W PSU should be okay but only if it is good quality one.

gold vs bronze is just efficiency i believe. But the psu you linked is a good psu. Overclocking the cpu would probably give you better performance in games which utilize the cpu more. If the game utilizes the gpu more, you would be better overclocking the gpu. I mean, overclocking the cpu never hurts for the extra performance.
