Overclocking my Q9650 on EVGA 780i board

anyone have the steps or a guide on what to adjust to overclock my Q9650 i got it up to 3.150 and any higher it freezes, I adjusted voltage to 1.462 anything else i have to do i see people getting 4.0 out of theirs i would like to just get to 3.4, I also have the new GTX 295 Red Edition Vid card w/ 1792 memory Any help would be great.
