So I decided to start overclocking my Phenom II 940 well frankly, because I can. And so far I currently have it pushed to 3.6 @1.40v and 2.2 for the HTT/NB @ stock voltage. But here is where I run into issues. I read everywhere people pushing their NB to 2.4, 2.8 etc with no issues what so ever. However, when I try to push my NB to 2.4, it doesn't matter if I give it 1.5v, it just isn't stable, I even tried putting back down the HTT to 2.0, and the stock 1.8 since I read that higher HTT can cause OC'ing issues. I am really just baffled why I can't push my NB, I really was hoping to get it to at least 2.4, any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Try drooping down to 800mhz. and then raise nb to see if maybe the ram is the issue. Ive had lots of problems at 1066 also! Just a thought.

Ah not a bad idea, thanks I'll give that shot and let you know if it worked!

Dropping to 800mhz didn't solve my problem, however, I found hitting F9 in my bios enabled extra options in the Genie Bios section, and under CPU Features I found the CPU-NB Voltage, I was raising the NB Core voltage before because that's all that was listed in the bios! (Default is 1.30 for this apparently) and I raised my CPU-NB from stock to 2.25 and NB@2.4 is stable with CPU@3.6 1.425v.

The next wall I've run into is trying to push the NB to 2.6 with the CPU@3.8(1.45v). If I try to run the NB@2.6 it doesn't matter if I raise my CPU-NB voltage to 1.325, it just doesn't want to be stable. Sometimes it won't post, then if I restart it will post but either BSOD during a benchmark or just restart during the windows loading bar. I currently have a blower fan over my Chipset which lowered the temp from about 52c to 41c under load and it still didn't help the 2.6 barrier.

I have read that making my P-State P1 instead of P0 can help with stability when overclocking but I can't find a definitive answer on what exactly setting it to P1 does and I'd like to know what it does before I start playing around with it, I just want to look in the right area to try to fix this!
