The base clock is what sets the speed.
The multi is what the base clock is multiplied by to get the speed.
the i7 920 has a multiplier of 20.
Example:
(Base clock) * (multiplier)= The final speed.
So the stock settings would be:
(Base clock) * (multiplier)= 2.66
and as i have already said. the multipler for the i7 920 is 20 this gives us the following...
(Base clock) * (20)= 2.66
Simple alegebra dictates that the base clock must be 133 in this situation.

(Base clock) * (multiplier)= The final speed.
(Base clock) * (multiplier)= 3.0GHz
