overclocking the x2 3800+

hi there, i'm probably going to buy the x2 3800+. i was wondering how high i will be able to overclock this cpu and still use the fan and heatsink that comes with it? fyi: i will be putting this cpu in the asus a8n32-sli delux.

I'd see no reason why running at 2.4G (4600+ speeds) would be that much of a challenge, barring a lemon cpu or mb...

Not all make it as high as many are led to believe, where 2.8G- 3G on simple air cooling is more myth than substance....

If you even make it to 2.2G, a mere 200 Mhz OC, you essentially have dually 3500+ processors, which will be nice...

From my experience they seem to OC pretty well, but Stock HSF's may limit you somewhat.

My current X2 3800+ goes to 2850 max oc (windows bootable) and is Prime stable at 2750 if I give it 1.66v. I can run Prime Stable at 2700mhz on 1.58v which doesn't seem to put too much heat stress on things but I'm Water Cooling with an EXOS 2 which makes a big difference.
