Hello

I was hoping someone could help me solve what could be the issue with my PC. The CPU has been running hot for several months. However, it's never gotten to the point where it shuts down. It was running around 95-97 when playing games. Everything else is less than 50c.

This week or so, it has gotten much worse. It started switching itself off, saying it was too hot, which is fine but never exceeds what it had before. It freezes and I have had 2 BSoD.

As I'm typing, I'm running a stress test with Prime95 and everything has been at 100c for over to 30 minutes without any issues.

I changed the thermal paste and cleaned the radiator on my water cooler, which did lower the idol temperature, but I still have this heating issue. I'm pretty sure i feel a vibration in the pipes, so the pump is working? though, to be honest, I have no clue.

I suggest you replace your 120mm AIO cooler with an air cooler. 120mm is too small for a radiator and you will be much better off with something like a Thermalright Peerless Assassin or Phantom Spirit or a Deepcool AK500.

You would need to check how much clearance your case has first to ensure any new cooler will fit.
Thanks for the reply.

The Thermalright Peerless Assassin seems affordable. It will be tight, but it should fit.
