Hey there, so I have a laptop with a i7 processor, as soon as I power on the computer the cpu temp jumps to around 70°C, I have also noticed the wifi card is also hot, the laptop dies after 5minutes, I have cleaned the whole board, fan, and reapplied thermal paste, I have also reinstalled an os, but sill there's no progress.Help would be appreciated.

A common problem with laptops is that dust accumulates in the air flow path between the fan and the CPU and GPU chips, often in places hard to see and reach. When you cleaned, were you able to see ALL of that pathway?

I tested to see if it was the cooling system that had a problem by turning on the laptop with the heatsink detached and the cpu was burning hot in 2secomds of powering the laptop on.
