I'm putting a system together for a friend, after a bit of wheeling and
dealing, he will have my P4 3.06 533 C and I will get a P4 3.2 800 C
(Northwood) Has anyone else done a similar upgrade and did you notice any
improvement? I'm wanting to overclock it to somewhere above 3.5 gig, got
the good cooling etc already in place since my 3.06 does over the 3.5g. I
know I'll have to mess around with my memory timings a little, I'm running
Corsair xms 3500 cas2 at the mo, any settings advice would be appreciated.
Oh, almost forgot, mainboard is IC7-G

The 800 FSB 3.2 wont work in a 533 FSB motherboard,it has to have a MB that is
made for the 800 FSB CPU. Tried it my self and had to get a new MB. DOUG

Think you need to check the spec on the IC7-G, it supports 400, 533 AND 800
FSB's

I'm not being funny here mate, but did you read ANY of the original post?
Can I draw your attention to the fact that it says "mainboard is IC7-G" and
then my second reply after you suggested a new mainboard, the bit where I
said "Think you need to check the spec on the IC7-G, it supports 400, 533
AND 800
FSB's"! And please tell me where I even mentioned a Max III, despite the
fact that Abit do not make an IC7G MaxIII, thy make an IC7, and IC7-G and an
IC7-Max III. I take it from all the above that you are definitely not
qualified to answer the original question! The information was given in the
original post, for you to then argue about facts you failed to read I'm
afraid limits even my patience!

Richard, Tom, I understand now why you lose it now and again! ;o)
