In bios I have the Onboard Promise controller enabled for ide. During bootup
it looks like the 2 drives are seen by the Promise controller, even though
the display goes by real fast.
In Win XP-Pro, under SCSI and Raid controllers, WinXP Promise FastTrack 378
Controller has the yellow! icon. I have the two ide drives connected to the
Pri_Raid connector. I'm not seeing them in windows, of coarse.
I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong. I eventually want to hook up 2 SATA
drives off the other promise controller, for a total of 4 drives, all in
non-raid mode. Can the P4C800E-Deluxe board handle it?

Thanks for all the help.

Yes it can, just install the promise drivers from your motherboard disk
