I am trying to install two Seagate Sata 80 gig hard drives on my
p4p800-e on the Intel Raid controller as Raidd 1 and my boot drives.
I have a CD/RW on the IDE secondary and nothing on the primary.

If I set the bios to Sata, non raid, the bios will recognize the drives
as the third and fourth drives, with the primary IDE undetected, and the
CD as the master secondary. If I set the Bios to Sata/raid, the drives
are not recognized in the bios at all. In boot priority, I only have a
choice of the floppy or the CD.

When I boot, I do not get the Raid configure screen by pressing Control
I. It just says boot device not found.

I tried to intall XP anyway, pressed F6, and loaded the correct Raid
drivers, and it seemed to be installing. However, on reboot, it could
not find the drives and just continued to loop. Any thoughts on what I
am doing wrong? Have I missed a step?

You must go into the raid setup utility at boot & create the RAID
set....probably ctl+I or ctl+S or F10....enable raid boot rom in bios setup
& you'll see it's prompt.

Thanks, I finally got it to work, but I have no idea what I did
differently. I tried every combination I could think of several times.
