I set up my 2 sata drives in raid o with this moboard and tried in vain to
install Windows Me. Windows XP was running fine though. Any help to
successfully install Me would be much appreciated.

RAID driver is Win2K/WinXP only.

Look at the notation under the IAAR35 driver entry on this page:
http://www.asus.com.tw/support/download/item.aspx?ModelName=P4P800%20SE&Type=All

WinME probably won't understand SATA at all, unless you use the
"Compatible" setting for the Southbridge interfaces. That will
let you use four of six disk interfaces on the Southbridge. There
are three sets of two, and WinME will see any two of:

(Primary Master IDE + Primary Slave IDE)
(Secondary Master IDE + Secondary Slave IDE)
(Southbridge SATA 1 and SATA 2)

I think you'll find this motherboard is a PITA to dual boot,
as you'll be changing the disk interface settings and the boot
order, every time your want to switch between WinXP and WinME.

It is likely, that to share a disk between WinXP and WinME, would
require not using RAID while in WinXP. Maybe if you select
"Compatible" mode, select one set of PATA and one set of SATA
interfaces on the Southbridge, then both OS can use the same BIOS
settings. Probably not what you wanted to hear.

AFAIK, WinXP can work with Compatible or Enhanced mode. The
difference between the two, is how many disks can be attached
to the Southbridge for each setting.

As for why the IAAR driver doesn't work in WinME, that is just
laziness on Intel's part. There is no technical reason I can see
for not being able to do RAID under the old OSes.
