Hello !

I have a P4PE-x six months old. (P IV 2.6ghz)

Once out of five times, when I push my startup button the system stops after two seconds (complete switch off)

For starting again I must try several times.

When the system started normally for more than 10 sec ... after it works normally.

Pls do you have an idea ?

Many thanks

Michel (France)

Intermittent problems like this are annoying. Ideally, you need a substitute
PSU and memory.
What size PSU are you using ?

I had a starting problem once, which turned out to be a faulty power supply.
If you can borrow an alternate 350W or higher PSU this is one way to check
if its power related.

Thank you very much,

I'm going to look at this !

The power supply is a morex 350w remainder from the former box.

all the best from France,

Michel

Also the P4PE has a well known problem called "Cold Boot" . What you
describe sounds very much like it. I get it when the weather get real
cold, about once a month. In the summer no problems at all.
