Question P50-AST3NX1 Laptop will not turn on with new memory installed

The title is pretty self-explanatory. I bought the upgrade memory from Crucial for the machine and it is actual working memory because I put it in another computer that uses the same memory and it works.
However when I put it in my P50-AST3NX1 machine, the machine refuses to turn on. The power button light turns on for a milli-second and then goes back off.

Could it be that I am not properly seating the memory in the machine? I am putting it in the same way as the old memory so I kinda doubt that is what it is. The baffling thing is that the memory works in another laptop I have.

Yep, that's them. I bought two 8GB sticks.
I put them in but when I press the power button... nothing. Put the old memory back in? Turns on just fine.

Could I have just gotten a bum set of memory? I have not tried the old "One at a time!" thing yet.
