Hello I am having major difficulties getting this system up and running. I am running an ASUS P5E3 PRO and I cannot even get it to show a BIOS screen.
Honestly I'm not sure how I had my system set up before but apparently I don't have a system/case speaker so I can't tell if my system is beeping at me. But the fan for my PSU, CPU and current (and past PCI-e) cards are spinning, my ram is definitely seated properly.
I started with an Nvidia GeForce GT 220 512MB, then after wasting a whole painful day I decided that the card must be faulty -- returned it the next day -- same problem -- called the company that makes the card they said that the CrossFireX is an ATI thing so I replaced this new card with an ATI Radeon HD 4350 --- still no signal to my monitor (Acer x241W - DVI, and VGA no signal) - I even tried connected it to my HDTV via HDMI and still no signal.
Is it possible that this motherboard is faulty? I get a green light when my PSU is connected but no beeps -- should I just go and get a computer speaker so I can get in tune with whatever the comp is trying to communicate?
This has been giving me so much grief and I'm starting to think it may be my motherboard.
Can anyone offer me any suggestions? -- I should note that I don't own any other monitors but this Acer monitor (with DVI and VGA does work with my other computer (MacBook Pro 17" DVI - 1920x1080 native).
