Was wondering what you guys are getting for temps on this board?

Everything else is well within limits.........CPU, VGA...............

Thanks.

BTW.....mine is running 43C to 45C

That's not bad after all it's barely 100 degrees F,and it will get a little lower during the winter,if you have winter where you live..g'day:))

My MB temp is very warm too - between 45-50C while my CPU is about 30C. This doesn't seem right to me. Does anyone know where the sensor is so I can get it some air?

I though it might be a BIOS issue but my friend also bought one and he gets about 30C. He has a tower case whereas mine is only a midi (a Lian Li PC-60). If I remove the dust filter from the two fans at the from it reduces by about 5C. It seems to work OK though at 50C 8O .

I have seen some other stuff around where people are also saying that they are between 40-50C so it may be a design fault???

mine used to run that way, but i stuck ONE OF THESE (just the fan, not the heatsink that comes with it, i screwed them directly onto the P5W DH heatsinks) on the northbridge and southbridge, and now it idles around 38-40C... Which is MUCH better 😉. But it does seem the P5W DH mobo's (at least older manufactured ones) run hot.

The little chipset coolers are cheap as hell, they're $6.29 a peice if you buy 2 of them, that's what... $12.58 plus $6.94 shipping (if you get 2), for a total of $19.52... So 20 bucks... not bad when it keeps the mobo 8-9C cooler! Oh, and pull off those shiny brass plated plastic heatsink caps ASUS put on the heatsinks... they're doing nothing for your airflow, not to mention you'd be an idiot to leave them on if u got aftermarket coolers for the chipsets. They're held on with what looks like crappy rubber cement.. just pull them off.

EDIT:
i didn't have room for anything fancy, as i have a GeForce 7900GTX right above the southbridge, and the ABNORMALLY LARGE Scythe Ninja+ CPU cooler above the northbridge. But i suppose you could buy two of THESE if you wanted to try and get even lower mobo temps. But i don't know if they work any better or worse than the COOLER MASTER coolers i'm using.

Oh and they sell the COOLER MASTER coolers at any CompUSA if you just HAVE TO HAVE them right away, but they'll cost twice as much plus tax.

Sorry to bring up this old topic, but I have to know ( I registered to the forums just to ask). Can you actually fit a 40mm fan on the SB with the 7900GTX on? I'm thinking of getting a GTX but I don't know if it will fit with my 40mm fan on the SB. It's height is 10mm (like those coolermaster ones)

Please tell me!

PS: To be on topic, my MB temps with a 40mm fan on both North and South bridge are 35C and 40C without it. I've also applied AS5 on both.

MB running 39C and CPU running 32C

P5W DH
2gb Corsair Ram
Intel Pentium D 940
5 SATA HDs
P180 case
Zalman 9500 cooler

26C CPU and 38C MB here.

I beleive the temp monitor for this board is under the southbridge and not the northbridge btw.

Changing from the stock cooler to an Artic Cooler Freezer Pro 7 knocked almost 10C of my Prime Temps.
