Hi All,

I have started using geforce now for my gaming, i have fairly decent internet, fibre 65-70mb dl 19mb upl 6-9MS, but i keep getting the warning of packet loss? I'm on a 5ghz wireless connection but i also go ethernet on occasion (im using a lenovo ryzen 5 laptop 2500u)

I have adjusted various settings on geforce now including my bit rate changing it to match the mean of my upl and dl speed.

I also ran a packet loss test over a few minutes, this was the result:

Is this normal or is something wrong here?

Thanks in advance

Solution
The loss is the middle has no effect on you. It is purely a issue with how the test was done. It does not mean there is no problems just that this tool is not showing them.

A actual network issue would show loss say at hop 3 and you would see that same loss at every hop past it. That would mean hop 3 was the cause. That does not mean you can fix it. All large ISP have constant monitoring in their network. They will generally know about stuff before the end consumer. Sometime though it is hard to fix, If a fiber is damaged under the ground or in the ocean it will take them a while to replace it.

What you need to concentrate on is the things you can actually fix. Leave a constant ping command run in background cmd...
sorry excuse my slowness, but are you saying that because the a middle lost packets but it did not affect the final node, ergo their is no issue and it is normal? or are you saying it has impacted in some way?

Thanks for the response

What you need to concentrate on is the things you can actually fix. Leave a constant ping command run in background cmd windows to your router ip and the first isp router (172.16.10.217) When you see messages see if you see corresponding loss in these windows.

You generally only see loss to your router if you are using wifi . Loss to the ISP generally means there is some issue with the cabling, most times outside your house so the ISP need to come and check it.
