Hello,
I just purchased two sets of Kingston kvr1333d3sok2/8gr for a total of 16 gigs of ram. However, I must have been entered into the faulty ram lottery and been quite fortunate! One stick from each set is faulty so says memtest. If I stick the two good sticks, one from each set in, will I see some performance loss vs having both of the sets put in as pairs? That would allow me to RMA the two faulty sticks instead of all 4. The question arises because of the emphasis of "paired memory sticks" and "identical memory modules"...
More concise: Is there any down side to using one stick from each set while returning the other two, or should I return all 4 and get 2 new sets back?
Thanks,
Timmy

Solution
The gain is little, but noticeable. I'd return all the RAM sticks and get all new ones, that's what the warranty is for.

Thanks,
Went through Amazon's return service and it was fast and A+ service. 2 sets came in yesterday and work quite well! I'm quite pleased. Thx for the advice.
