Forgive me if I've butchered the processors name, but I'm quite excited at the prospects of the new AMD Palomino procesor. I've been following it over at The Register. I haven't heard any news as far as an ETA for it. Anyone have any idea when it's supposed to be out?

What I have seen is early next year. I would expect early Q2 for supply.

Yeah in Q2 they are just coming out. Probably starting around 1.2 or 1.3 GHZ, then going up to 1.7, or 1.9 or 2GHz or something later on in the year.

The real party will be the ClawHammer and Sledge Hammer though! WOO! Gonna get me one of those honeys

I imagine AMD will get them ready as soon as possible (Q2) to both cut into the P4's lead and to hit the workstation market. Then its x86-64 all the way!

Can't wait for Claw Hammer!!

.... PIV HollowGhz, being slower than Athlon, really has NO "lead", but AMD may launch Palomino just after Xmas anyway at 1.3-1.5Ghz.
