I found a "schistosome". Nethack help has no knowlege of this. Any
source divers?
Or does my system have a worm?

I would like to thank "Fred" for his bones pile from Hearse in which he
was killed by a cave spider on Mine level 6.

It's probably someone's custom fruit. Whether there's a worm in that I
don't know.

try using google groups in rec.games.roguelike.nethack and you might find the
patch it's from. What patches (if any) DO you have installed?

A browser search comes up with "real world english/latin" for infected
snails/mammals.
