Did a quick digital camera snapshot set of the pages and cleaned them up
somewhat in editing programs then shipped them off to IMAGESHACK for your
viewing.
*** WARNING *** Contains some black & white gore + offensive language.

Just a snippet of the interesting weirdness in this book.
Jhonen Vasquez is, of course, known more famously for the insanely
intense "INVADER ZIM" cartoon.

Most amusing. But what's it all about? ;-)

Btw, I'm peeved - I can't get my female toons to have breasts anywhere near
as big as Lady Sexhole's!? Hope that's in Issue #4 *grumble*...

No matter how many times you save the world, it always manages to get back in jeopardy again.
Sometimes I just want it to stay saved! You know, for a little bit?
I feel like the maid; "I just cleaned up this mess! Can we keep it clean for... for ten minutes!"

Well, it is just 4 pages out of a big book devoted to intensely weird
stuff in Squee's life (the main character). I don't know if Jhonen sequeled
it as I have only gotten "Everything Can Be Beaten" and "Squee's...
Unspeakable Horrors" + all of the "Invader Zim" DVDs. Jhonen has a few more
books out, but I haven't purchased them yet.

Personally I think he was making snide fun at Todd McFarlane's
drawing style of super-duper-exaggerated body forms to the point where the
spine either had to be reinforced titanium or the feet spiked into the
pavement to provide any sort of upright stability.

And speaking of Todd McFarlane (for everyone who is generally
disinterested in Image Comics)

One character in the Spawn comics got Todd in serious trouble. When Todd
created the mobster villain Antonio Twistelli, it was alleged that his
inspiration was hockey player Tony Twist who was then with the Quebec
Nordiques, and later played with the St. Louis Blues. Twist sued and in
2000 a jury in the St. Louis Circuit court where the suit had been filed
awarded him more than $24 million for unauthorized use of his name. The
judge set aside the award saying that the "verdicts in this case are against
the manifest weight of the evidence." An appeal to the appellate court
sided with the superhero, but that was not the end of the episode. The
Missouri Supreme Court found that the use of Twist's name was driven more
for money than artistic value, and ordered a new trial. In July 2004 a jury
awarded Twist $15 million. Although Todd vowed to appeal the new judgment,
his company Todd McFarlane Productions Inc. was forced to file Chapter 11
Bankruptcy. Todd's toy company was not a part of the bankruptcy, but it was
listed as the production company's largest creditor. We will all have to
wait for the next issue to see how the superhero emerges from this threat.

Jury award pushes comic book company into bankruptcy court

From the AP wire, via AOL News:

Jury award pushes comic book company into bankruptcy court

PHOENIX (AP) - A Missouri jury's $15 million award against ``Spawn''
creator Todd McFarlane has pushed his comic-book business into bankruptcy
court.
Todd McFarlane Productions Inc. of suburban Tempe filed for Chapter 11
protection from creditors Friday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court.
A jury in St. Louis awarded former NHL player Tony Twist $15 million
after concluding that McFarlane and his company profited by using the former
St. Louis Blues player's name without permission and that Twist's publicity
rights were infringed.
McFarlane gave the name Antonio ``Tony Twist'' Twistelli to a New York
mob boss character in his ``Spawn'' comic books in the early 1990s.
The U.S. Supreme Court in January rejected without comment an appeal by
McFarlane arguing that his work was free speech.
Last year, he said his McFarlane Cos., then an umbrella of seven
businesses, had annual sales exceeding $50 million.
The bankruptcy filing allows McFarlane's company to continue to operate
and reorganize its finances while freeing it from the threat of creditors'
lawsuits.
Twist's 10-year National Hockey League career ended when his contract
with the St. Louis Blues expired in June 1999.
In 1999, McFarlane paid $3 million for Mark McGwire's 70th home-run
baseball. He also paid $450,000 last year for Barry Bonds' record 73rd
home-run ball and owns Sammy Sosa's 66th home-run ball.
