Can somebody test a new i3/i5 (530/540/660/661) with the integrated GPU? I want to upgrade my system to Windows7-64 bits, mainly to be able to use more than 4 GB RAM for Photoshop. I think even a 530 without dedicated GPU would work well enough for me (I don't play games).
My current system: AMD Athlon X2 4200+, Matrox G450, XP prof 32-bits, 4 GB RAM, display 1280*1024

It really would be interesting if someone would benchmark a system with a QuadroNVS card. The Quadro series cards are intended for drawing 2D graphics well for CAD work and such (QuadroNVS is supposedly intended for workstation 3D graphics as well). Would love to know how they stack up.

With all of Nvidia Fermi's calculation optimization I wonder how the new 480/470 cards would do on the subject of 2d?

Okay so here is my configuration :

Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 @ 2Ghz
2 Go DDR II
ATI Mobility Radeon HD3650
Catalyst for Mobility 10.3b, Power Play set on "optimize for performance"
Windows 7 64 bits with Aero activated
No background application

Each test executed 4 times, the nearest test from average of four has been retained.

This is ridiculous. You guys spent big $$$ on high-end graphics adapters and then some guy with a 12 year-old machine comes and scores higher than you in 2D (Athlon 800, Rage 128).

Hardware and software vendors should be ass-kicked for shipping such a lame software/driver stack.

Btw, here's my score (Geforce 8200 onboard with shared-memory) running Linux/Wine:

Ok so I came across this great article after some comments posted on another forum. Since I just bought a HD5770 and I am running updated Cat. 10.4 drivers I decided my two systems here to give it a shot:

System 1: Athlon II x4 620, HD5770, Win7x64 + Aero, Catalyst 10.4

It seems that most issues of the hotfix are included now, however the ageing Geforce FX5200 (which wasn't a great card by any means back in the day) wins just about as much tests as it loses, total shocker! Similar to the person above with the much older rage128, this computer likes text alot :)

I feel foolish asking this but where is the link to download the Tom2d.exe file? I can't find it in any of the articles pages.

[citation][nom]snemarch[/nom]Probably not the easiest thing to accelerate on a GPU - the prime candidates would be filled polys, rectangles (subset of polys) and blits (including stretched ones - easy to do with a 3D quad or two tris).Points, lines, bezier curves, arcs (and circles, a subset of arc), ellipses, unfilled polys/rectangles ... all those aren't easily/efficiently implemented with the core 3D primitive: filled polygons. Perhaps some of it can be efficiently implemented with shaders, but that's uncharted territory for me[/citation]

How can I know if my numbers are good?

I just bought a Sapphire 5870 which I'm having to return. Games and everything else appear fine but scrolling windows (bitblt) causes many small green and/or magenta squares.

It seems likely to be related to this topic so I thought I'd mention it.

OK I am jumping on this pretty late, but I'd like to compare my results of my ASUS G73jh i7 Q @ 1.73 Notebook with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD5870 GPU running Win7x64:

BENCHMARK: DIRECT DRAWING TO VISIBLE DEVICE

Text: 19048 chars/sec
Line: 3651 lines/sec
Polygon: 1136 polygons/sec
Rectangle: 6211 rects/sec

Stretching: 331 operations/sec
Splines/Bézier: 3232 splines/sec
Score: 633

BENCHMARK: DIB-BUFFER AND BLIT

Text: 17325 chars/sec
Line: 99206 lines/sec
Polygon: 15182 polygons/sec
Rectangle: 1752 rects/sec
Arc/Ellipse: 18195 ellipses/sec
Blitting: 6853 operations/sec
Stretching: 558 operations/sec
Splines/Bézier: 24184 splines/sec
Score: 1711

So, my computer won't even open After Effects or DaVinci Resolve, and every time Photoshop opens it says it runs into issues with the GPU and is disabling enhancements. It seems like the same issue you guys were having in 2010, except my drivers are newly updated. I am so annoyed!!!
