First I will start with the (important) specs of my rig:
Corsair TX 750 Power Supply
ASUS Sabertooth Z77 Motherboard
Intel i7 3770K CPU
Corsair H60 (with an additional fan on the radiator)
4x4GB G-Skill 2133MHz RAM
EVGA GTX 680 (reference)
ASUS GTX 680 DirectCU II
3 TB Western Digital External HD (backup)
2TB Seagate 6 Gbps (not sure of the exact model) (had various programs installed here)
1TB Toshiba 3 Gbps (also not sure of the exact model) (picture/music storage)
128 GB OCZ Agility 3 SSD (original Windows installation location)
My custom built PC has been having issues with a boot loop it will go into where it won't get past the windows loading screen after the bios post (just continues to restart over and over). It has issues loading the automatic repair as well. This issue has gotten progressively worse over the past year or so that it's been happening. It's to the point where it will only boot up maybe 5% of the time.
There is no BSOD or error message of any kind. I have tried on fresh installs of Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 (both 64-bit professional versions) with the same results. It also happens when the PC is put to sleep. I initially thought it may be a dead video card, but after removing both cards, the issue persisted. I also tried moving the windows installation off my SSD onto my 2TB Seagate. That also did not help resolve the situation. Ocassionally I will receive a message about a failed overclock. I only run the PC on the default XMP profile to get the 2133 speeds from my RAM.
Speaking of the RAM, I used to have a set of 4x4 GB Patriot 1866 Mhz Intel Extreme Masters RAM, but after replacing that I realized that wasn't the issue. I can't imagine this is a software related issue from fresh installs on 2 separate OS's. Each time, I formatted the drive for a clean install. I have tried flashing the BIOS to the latest version, but that doesn't seem to have solved the issue either. I don't believe that this is an issue with capacitors on my MB, because I can hear the small ventilation fan on the MB running after a hard shut down (power switch off on PSU). I also don't believe it is the PSU (I could be wrong), because powering up the system without any video cards still causes crashing without all of that load.
I should also note that my PC does NOT ever crash while running. Even when I do get past the loading screen, it takes a noticeably longer-than-usual time to startup (especially given that they are fresh installs. Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm deathly afraid it might be a fault with the MB or CPU, but I'm hoping it is an easy fix.
