Pc boot problems

Hi ive just upgraded from an i5 to an i7 7700 i did the bios update for my motherboard, all went well. Put in my new cpu plugged it in but it wont boot. Instead it comes on for a few seconds then shuts off with a single beep and then it just repeates. Ive tried basic things to fix it but nothing seems to work.

What is the full system spec? include make and model of the psu

generally you should reset cmos after installing a new cpu

make sure your ATX and CPU power cables are plugged all the way in. better yet, remove them and re-insert the atx/cpu power cables to the motherboard.
