Hi,

I have been playing games a lot recently and was looking to invest my money in a good/worth the price custom built pc as it seems to be better doing and funner. Also this means the possibility of customization and removal of certain parts in the future. I am not very experienced in this sector and require assistance and suggestions. I have about 900euro/ $1,200/750pounds to spend. I do not mind whether it slightly exceeds my money limit, I am looking for the best build I can get with that money NOT including any monitors/peripherals .etc. I have looked at PCPartPicker and do not have much of a clue where to start, I've looked at videos and have the general idea of what I need - I would prefer Nvidia over ASD. Whatever suggestions and must haves will be a great help! I am not sure what the average price for each component should be and how to balance everything out. Not to forget, I do little work, only microsoft word .etc. I will also be watching bluray films, at the moment I have a DVD drive to use and plan to buy a bluray drive in the future, I don't mind whether it is included in the overall build for the moment. At the moment I play Rust, DayZ, Metro, Bioshock, Borderlands, Skyrim and a whole list of similar games quite similar. I will also be looking to keeping this for 2 years or more and be playing games such Titanfall and possibly other mainstream games.

Solution
if you can stretch the budget a little bit, i'd go with this build:

it has an i5 processor (one of the best for gaming), a 780(also one of the best for gaming), the corsair case, a highly rated psu, an ssd for your operating system and programs and your favorite games, and a hard disc drive for everything else. where i am it comes into $1250, which is a little more than you wanted

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3fQnw

i can probably make it a little less expensive if you want, without sacrificing much gaming performance

7 euros is no problem, of course if it's going like 30 over then I have to say now but a small amount is fine if it does help. It's not going to be crazy filming and stuff merely an idea for videos or small edits of different things such as skateboarding or things for school and then possibly doing voice over on videos. Nothing major, just wanted to check whether would need to change. If you think the i5 4570 is what I need no problem! On amazon there is i5 4570 and i5 4570S which one? It's 174 for the 4570 and 175 for the 4570S

the 4570s is built to use less power, so intel drops the tdp from 85 to 65 watts. the tdp is the most amount of heat the processor can push out doing normal tasks like gaming. with a lower tdp, intel also drops the clock rate, slowing down the processor a little bit. id go with the non s version, it will perform better. and i added in special effects and some somewhat intricate stuff and rendered it on a really bad computer in 20 minutes for a 5 to 10 minute clip (this computer had a cpu with 1 core, and no graphics card) so yours is gonna be rendering alot faster

Great! I added it to my basket and removed the intel i5 4440.

Hi jshoop, been awhile since we spoke :) just wanted to let you know I will be ordering all the components soon once the ram is avaible on amazon.it, hopefully then all the components will be in stock. Anyway I wanted to let you know I have picked a monitor and wanted to run it by you just in case you have an comments, I personally like it a lot and think it will be great. Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsR3ORsoB74

that looks beastly. the 780 will dominate that sized monitor. I had to sorta re read through the thred since its been a little while, at first i was like "what hardware is gonna be running this?" anyway, that looks like a really good monitor, it has good reviews as well

thats good. since prices change over time, i updated your build. this will run a little faster, for the same amount of money:

it comes with the newer generation motherboard and processor. the motherboard will support a wider range of cpus, allowing you to upgrade to a better cpu in the future then you couldve. Also, the newer processor is a little faster, and more efficient with energy

Did you remember I live in italy and therefore will be buying all items off amazon.it? So my budget should be at 1000euro/1050, no more.

On the previous build we did: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Robotmutt/saved/YxK7YJ
That totals to 1,050euro approx including a side panel with a window I added for my bitfenix prodigy.

On this new build you have suggested: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/bDRc4D
It totals to 1,137euro approx including the side panel.

Note the side panel costs 25euro alone. Also some components are not being sold from amazon.it, but from companies through amazon therefore there is shipping for certain components, I am not sure how much the shipping is but if need I can find out. So add the shipping costs for a few components onto the total price of both builds above and it is exceeding my budget. I do not necessarily need the window side panel and do not mind sacrificing it! To be honest, only until now I just realised that the price will be more due to shipping! :/ I may be able to arrange with my parents for them to pay for the shipping, if not I will have to pay and that means I will be over my budget.. Just checked, the shipping is only added for the case and PSU and it is total of 16.90 so add that onto the total price of our first build: 1,066approx, and then the second build: 1,153approx.

if you need too, you can drop the processor back to the 4570 instead of the 4590. that should save you some money, and you wont sacrifice much performance. Hopefully it falls under budget. a second option is drop the motherboard back to a h87 or h81, though you will lose the wifi and the possibility to upgrade to the newest generation cpu

So to keep it in my budget I can either bump up from our origional build the processor from 4570 to 4590 or the motherboard to a WIFI motherboard which allows me to upgrade the cpu in the future..? Hmm I know I'm not the best at this that's why I'm getting you help 😛 but I think changing the motherboard would be better as it will allow me to upgrade the cpu...I don't know the difference between the two processors, or how big the difference is, what do you think is best of the two options to keep it in my budget? Also do I keep the solid state and optical drvies the same as before or change them?

since the gpu is less expensive (but performs the same) in the second build, you have the money to upgrade the mobo or processor. Id say upgrade the mobo to the h97 one. It includes wifi and is a newer chipset, meaning you can upgrade to the next generation of processors, which will be faster. the processors .1 ghz or .2 ghz difference will be very minor change in performance, you wont notice the difference

Ok I've changed everything in my amazon basket, I took off the window side panel as I figured I could buy that later on if I think it looks nice to see inside. I replaced the mobo with the new one you reccomended and kept the cpu at the 4570 and changed the old SSD to the new one. I will be ordering the build very soon in the next few days! So around now will be the last run over everything :) Also I just realised the xfx xxx 650W was chosen for the previous GPU as it used up alot of power..is the new gpu the same or is it possible to reduce the psu and maybe knock off a bit of money there and use it somewhere else or not even use it at all?

i would keep the psu, running a 550w would be pushing it a little. The 780 requires quite a heft power requirement. How much does it add up to? and most of the components are black, so it would look cool in the future you get the window, its not a mish mash of colors. throw in white leds and that would be a cool color scheme

It adds up to 1,063euro. Also I've been looking up peoples builds on pcpartpicker and barely anybody pairs up a 780 with a 4570..is it possible or not sensible to do? I'm guessing it is possible and hope it is wise, so I guess I won't need a cpu cooler? I will just used the given one? Anyway I hope it is the right thing to do :) I do hope for a good result from playing games like any idea the expected fps I will get? Also I guess because the 780 is a high end gpu I should expect to run my games on high for most things and ultra? Because with that monitor I hope to get it will be a beauty!

its pretty much pairing up a 780 with an i5 4670k. The 4570 is barely slower, it doesnt make any difference.

http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/505/Intel_Core_i5_i5-4570_vs_Intel_Core_i5_i5-4670K.html

the 5% difference is nothing, only because the 4670k is clocked .2 ghz more. so you probably saw lots of 780s and i5 4670ks.

you dont need a cpu cooler since you arent overclocking, and its not possible with the locked processor and motherboard. If you want, you can get a low profile cooler like the cooler master gemini in the future if you think the stock cooler is too loud. pcpartpicker is down here so heres a newegg link, its the first i could find: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103177

also, you should be running ultra on games with the 780, probably 60 fps minimum. heres a 780 benchmark: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-780-performance-review,3516.html

they benchmarked a bunch of games at 1440p and it got 60fps in a bunch, 1080p is less demanding so you can definatly push 70 or 80fps

Sounds great! I really can't wait to get it all together! I will be ordering all the parts very soon, I'll add links to each item just to do a final check:
