i found 2 sites..not sure if they are ligit...
http://kitsoft.net/product/windows-7-home-premium-64-bit/
and
http://www.windows8key-sale.com/microsoft-windows-7-home-premium-product-key-p-5.html

I found it free.... o.o <- for my college...only if student is registered comp sci... (im not yet...i have my email and net ID but apparently thats done later on.)

which do i get....
Microsoft Windows 7 Professional

Microsoft Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 Debug/Checked Build 64-bit (English) - DreamSpark
Available to: Students/Faculty/Staff
...crap i don't have access yet 🙁 i need to actually start my major ( comp sci)

md will perform better but then their runt frame issue isnt completely resolved. and as for 1080p "desperately needing" vram is a joke. extra vram isnt really useful until you go to 1440p

two things. AMD's runt framing is ONLY there on multi-gpu setups. so a single 7970 is FINE.

second, didn't he say he's got 3 1080p monitors?

Not sure about those sites, I know www.journeyed.com is a legit site and dreamspark is what I had access to this semester and I got windows 8 pro for free from it but I didn't like it. Get windows 7 pro 64 bit, whatever one that dreamspark has that you can get it and if not then you might have to buy it 🙁

Why do people not like windows 8?
There is nothing wrong with a single 7970ghz ed especially on sale with the free games included, it beats the 670 hands down.
Skip the mSATA, put windows on the Plextor
Sythe case fans, real quiet but windy.
1.5 V 1600 RAM is best. If you really must spend on the RAM get GSkill Sniper. Beast RAM that, but only if you know how.
Check out the Bitfenix Colossus. Now that's a case door.

im 100% going to get another and drop it into SLI (just have to wait a bit to come up with the money) the SSD would be for caching .... i feel like as long as the better one is on sale im going to get it for future upgrades, however if its not ill take out the smaller SSD and the more expensive mobo and replace them with the cheeper one and the h100 or h100i for the looks..and possibly go windowed, but that depends on what i can do with funding..also a h100 would put another 2 fans on the top of the case, letting me install the included case fans on the back and front + side .

the second SSD may well be a waste and i may take it off regardless... however should i just switch it out for a 120 gb SSD in that slot and put the OS on there? or is it better to stick with a normal SSH? <- can i even do that?

windows 8 is a tablet and touch oriented OS . IF i got it id have to buy $5 software just to give me a start button.... it might be "faster" but on a build like this i dont think i will have any issues . all minor procces will be handled by the intergrated graphics cards. only games and cgi will be on the dedicated GTX670 .. ( just like my laptop does it with its integrated i7 intel gpu and its dedicated Geforce GT ) <- its a good laptop :)

Skip the cache, and the UD5H unless well, you just want it,in which case the UD5H WIFI is what you want, but definitely skip the cache.
128GB is enough for windows, install it as a boot drive.
3TB drives are cheap,if you want to add something, add that.

which is better the intel chip or the one in the ud5h. also what lan card is better...

regardless i just posted a second version of the build below the first i think i may like it better...they are the same cost but appeal to my aesthetic values... without really hitting cost... (i can come up with an extra $100 ish if i really need to...)

i might still however choose the normal fan.......if thats the case ill probably go with a no window case as well....

Everything on the UD5H works flawlessly. The Ethernet,Bluetooth, Wifi,USB's, RAM slots, everything. Putting expansion cards on it is a total waste of money. The kinds of cards that make sense on it aren't for light work. Of course the 670 SLI is right at home.

good point..... im trying to decide between ascetics and price as well...

the wifi card would definitely not be needed if it was included...however do you know if the card for the UD5H is also duel channel N?

$400 is alot of money. How much do you figure it would cost to populate that thing,as a workstation perhaps?
And will there be a UP9!!!!!! :O

it costs 100 dollars just on the vrm side. lets say the entire board costs 250 dollars to make including everything. gigabyte puts in a lot of effort into their boards and dont cheap out.

they made a ud9 for their x58 series. it was the board that was aimed at regular users unlike the x58 oc
