Long story short. I wanna build a pc that will suit my needs. I know I want a i5 6700K intel processor a corsair carbide 400c case and a mechanical drive for storage and a ssd for my boot drive needs.
My needs are for general use but will also be used for dedicated console to pc streaming through twitch. I am trying to have a solid stream for twitch. Everything else... GPU, motherboard, ram, adequate power supply. I really dont know what will suit my needs.
Im looking for a budget build. I will choose my peripherals separately.
Any help from a knowledgeable source would be greatly appreciated.

Solution
hmm, so its gonna be 1080p 60fps @ 60MBit or more. u also have to encode that video and stream it from ur Xbox one. so for that,

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel - Core i5-7500 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($188.49 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Gigabyte - GA-B250M-Gaming 3 Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($69.98 @ Newegg)
Memory: GeIL - SUPER LUCE 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($62.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: PNY - CS1311 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($52.99 @ Best Buy)
Storage: Seagate - BarraCuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($46.49 @ OutletPC)
Case: Thermaltake - Core V21 MicroATX Mini Tower Case...
Gigabyte GA AB350 or MSI B350 Tomahawk? They're priced about the same thing... seems like the biggest difference is one has 4 Sata 6 ports while the other only has 4. Just wanted to get your opinion.

if u r refering to GA gaming 3 model, thats the one to get. it got a better audio codec and got some LED to light up ur build. and since we r using only abt 1tb HDD a maybe sometimr connect an extra one lying around, with some peripherals in the future, 4 sata ports is enough :)

So here is the latest incarnation of the build. Ive already bought the case. Im about to buy my psu... Wanted to see what you thought before I pulled the trigger.

Ok so these GPU prices are getting rediculous... The 1060 you reccommended has shot up to like 280 last time I checked... Is there a ryzen 5 cpu that has integrated grahics or a GPU that will still allow for consistant 1080p at 60FPS thats around the same price as the ellusive dual rx580 that is still out of stock.
If the ryzen processor isnt available... What intel cpu would you reccommend that does have integrated graphics that would allow me to stream my xbox gameplay.... And add a gpu ( later if I have to wait) that would give me the option to run most AAA titles at high to ultra settings.
Still my main goal is to stream my gameplay from my console... But I also would like to be able to play pc games with really high graphics settings. Nevermind 4K... I think 1080P at an average of 60FPS is my main goal. I hope im not driving ya crazy. I have been checking prices and stock availability everyday and it seems like all GPU prices are climbing.

u can wait a week more if u want, but i would suggest u to go for the 6gb 1060 for that 40 buck extra. the unavailability of rx580 has uped the demand on 1060 and so the price hike i think. that cyberpower has a 1400 cpu. if it has a b350 4 ram slot mobo and a custom cooler to oc it to 3.8-3.9, the pc gaming potential can be realized. that pc is just fine for streaming. without the b350 for overclocking and a custom cooler to oc it, the cpu is the weak link there for 1080p gaming.

so check if the mobo is a320 or b350, if its the former, check for upgrade options. also check if the cpu comes with a cooler like the cyrorig h7. the stock wraith stealth cooler is a poor choice for oc. and for gaming, the ryzen shows appreciable gains when oc'ed to 3.8-3.9 ghz.

also, what speed rams r those? if its 3000mhz n above, u can see a nice 5-10 fps gains in both min and avg fps in ur games. so even that is important. as u can see, there r a few key points if going for a ryzen build. thats y a custom pc is best.

update: the mobo is a asus b350M a which is a 4 slot model. so 16 gigs is possible.
the rams may vary according to delivery date. so couldnt get a model or bus speed.
the cooler seems to be a low cost alternative. not a capable one like cryorig h7. so oc potential is questionable.
and that pc doesnt have a SSD. factor that in, u would be seeing the price range of the pc build we planned above. in which case, the custom pc has a better cpu, more ram and a better mobo.

hope u can make the right decision now 😉

Yea... I also questioned the ram speeds as well. I also noticed there wasn't a SSD. Due to the cooler being (generic based upon answers in the questions section) I actually checked eBay for the price of the stock cooler ( not bad pricing btw)that came with the 1600. It's just that after your original recommendation and some of the reviews... it really made me want the rx580.That wasn't the sole purpose I checked out the pre-built rig. It was also at the suggestion of a content creator I follow that was suggesting alternative solutions to getting the Graphics card you were looking for. Right now on New Egg there's a GA-AB350/ Ryzen 5 1600 combo on sale for about the same price if I were to buy them separately. It's mainly the GPU that's holding me up.
I am also reluctant to go forward with the custom build due to questioning as to whether or not PC gaming is really what I want to do right now. It's exciting to think I can build an awesome rig that allows me to do almost everything with the exception of 4K and... VR? But I am brand new to the pc industry and fear that I am overspending for things that I will never use. I know I wanna use the pc for encoding and uploading to twitch via OBS. I know that I will more than likely wanna play Destiny 2 on pc but as a secondary option which will realistically probrably never happen. I will still main console due to I have friends who play there. So this amount of money on a pc that will mainly be used for streaming and light uses for other reasons makes me question my need to build the rig that you suggested that I have had a fun time tweaking and fallen in love with. It's exciting and one day ( if I don't build this one) I will build a monster pc. I've got the case and the psu on the way and I don't want those to go to waste. I dunno buddy... I'm really torn. It's a case of Wants vs Practicality in this situation. I could buy the pre built from above and add an SSD... change the mobo, ram and CPU later I guess (it's a question of when)... but that's gonna drive it up well past the costs of building the one you suggested.
I also question myself due to having a family and I have never spent this amount of money on myself.
I dunno dude. Sorry to vent. But my wife doesn't understand all this and there's really not anyone who understands pc's and the costs and truthfully, even though it's text from a stranger, I trust ya. What you think?

u can go for something like this :

since u have z270 board, u can go for 7700k with a cooler and an extra ram stick later.
the g4600 with its HD630 will be perfect to start streaming with this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00005141S?ref=emc_b_5_t or https://www.amazon.com/AVerMedia-ExtremeCap-Definition-Recorder-CV710/dp/B00G9QTUVE/ref=pd_sim_147_6?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00G9QTUVE&pd_rd_r=EXKKW2BPPTE909NN3ACG&pd_rd_w=8zc7j&pd_rd_wg=dIgEz&psc=1&refRID=EXKKW2BPPTE909NN3ACG

Ok so after some deep thought and speaking with my wife... I'm gonna go ahead with the ryzen build. There is still a massive issue with the graphics card. The price of the GT 1060 is at 400. So if I'm gonna do this... I wanna do it right. So my question to you is, should I wait for the graphics card and go with a CPU that has integrated graphics for now and then buy the graphics card I want ( to turn it into a beast)when they drop in price? For a few minutes I was fully prepared to buy the Best Buy rig aaaannnd buy the motherboard, CPU and ram that was in my build. But the issue is buying the Best Buy rig solely for the graphics card and wasting the other parts of the build. I know the obvious answer would be to turn around and sell the components that I'm not gonna use but truthfully I wouldn't even know where to begin there. It's really frustrating to see these prices continuously climb.
I really don't wanna overpay for a graphics card that is truly only realistically worth 210(the price of the asus dual on pcpartpicker). What should I do? I'm gonna build the ryzen rig. My hands are just tied right now due to the price of graphics cards climbing.

that best buy rig comes with a b350 mobo and some rams. since its a b350 mobo, u can overclock both ram and CPU. so get a cooler like this https://pcpartpicker.com/product/q9QRsY/scythe-mugen-5-512-cfm-cpu-cooler-scmg-5000 and oc ur 1400 to around 3.8ghz and rams to a min of 2800. i think the bundled rams would either be 2400/2133 speeds.

learn abt overclock first. i wouldnt recommend going over 1.3/1.35v vcore for now. lower the better, but make sure its stable.

these overclocks would give u appreciable results for 1080p in that AOC 144hz freesync monitor that i posted above. for streaming, no overclock is needed.

the prices have shot up. my initial ryzen build totaled 850. now its almost a 1000.

streaming wise, that best buy rig is more than enough. no changes required. its in gaming and that too in a 144hz that a 10-15 fps increase in avg and min fps will make a diff.
so to get that, u gotta oc the cpu and couple it with faster ram.

the asus prime mobo in that best buy is still a good one. but not my no.1 choice. so only a new cooler is in order to oc that best buy rig. the rams can also be overclocked with A XMP profiles in the bios with a little bump in the ram voltage from 1.35v to 1.4v maybe? thats y reading stuff abt overclocking is important.

a little slower rams will max cost u 5 fps. so changing them for 110 bucks isnt worth it. even considering that u can sell those stock rams for 80, thats still a 30 buck premium. i would spend that on better peripherals.

So I ended up buying the best buy rig. It came with a small cooler master heat sink and geil potenza 2400 ram. Ive watched a few vids on overclocking and there is actually a app called ryzen master that allows you to overclock the cpu, voltage and ram right from the app. I kept the original phanteks case I purchased and ended up scavenging the case fans from it giving me a total of 4 case fans. 2 intake and 2 exhaust. Im still debating on a cpu cooler. The cryorig h7 looks pretty good to me but I havent purchased. My question(s) is/ are do you think I could put a small overclock on the cpu now( say, 3.2v to 3.6v) without the larger cpu cooler and be ok or do you think I really should get a larger cooler and more and faster ram? And does ram inpact fps in games? Im still thinking about playing destiny 2 and would really like a consistant 1080p 60fps. Truthfully thats the only game I think I will be playing with any consistancy. Maybe Doom...

doom n destiny are not that intensive games.
and yes, try the overclock with the stock cooler master fan. that will give u a rough estimate of the overclock u can achieve.
both ryzen master and asus bios have overclocking settings.

i would advice u to not go more than 1.275-1.3v vcore with that weak cooler. with 1.3v, i expect the cooler to run at full speed. thats y. and yes, 3.6-3.7ghz should be achievable with 1.275-1.3 vcore.

bump up ur ram timings to 2933 speeds with a 0.1v bump to dram voltage. if not try to get it at 2800. but first update ur bios to latest version. if u got 2933 with cas 17/18. thats sweet. yes, ram frequency increases fps. and more so in ryzen. compared to the max fps, the gains n min fps r significant and is definitely worth it.

i would suggest u to watch many tutorials before overclocking. but do keep in mind that they have top of the line coolers and urs is a weak one and proceed with a grain of salt[meaning, dont apply the upper limits that they did]

So i updated the bios yesterday, and tonight i overclocked my cpu (in the bios btw, ryzenmaster for some reason wouldnt apply my cpu profile to the pc) to 3.6ghz from the stock 3.2 and bumped the voltage to 1.275v from the stock 1.2... I know i told you the ram is 2400... Its cas 15 right now and for some reason its only running at 2133... Why is that? I didnt overclock it yet mainly due to im not confident enough to touch it just yet. I did look at a few vids. I need to watch some more.

u have to enable the docp option to run the rams at higher speeds. increase the voltage by 0.1v initially then 0.05v for finetuning. dont go beyond 1.65v if ur stock voltage is 1.5v. u will be able to run it at 2933 within cas19 or atleast 2800 in cas 18 n below.
for info on overclocking ram, head to asus forum. plenty of ppl would have the same board and would have overclocked the 2400mhz rams. u will be able to get the exact settings there :)

So I ordered a CPU cooler finally and some better ram. Was gonna get your thoughts on my choices
