I would get the first one. it can hold a full sized board, more room in the case makes tinkering easier. the front looks like its better vented too.

As above. It depends on what you are going to put in there, too. A larger case usually keeps the components cooler.

why?

airflow is hindered by the small flow area around the broad panels of glass, the first case has a much greater airflow areas through the mesh front panel. the fans placed in the front will not be as effective as they would be with a mesh computer front panel.
the difference between opening the window an inch versus half way down in a car.
