I am trying to decide on the best computer purchase for our small church of 150 people.. primary use will be in the audio video department..I have had some people tell me a workstation is a better choice vs. standard pc.. I want to choose one that is upgradeable and has enough processor speed, video card and other components to begin with and to be able to expand in the future..we will be using Pro Presenter worship software.. I have looked at the Lenovo brand pc.. but I don't know where ot begin to choose a workstation and the components that would make it a better choice.. Please advise! Thank You! BD

With the advent of multi core CPUs, the only real reason to get a workstation is to run something high end. Like dual quad core CPUs.

A church audio/video PC doesn't need that. So save money and get a good quad core consumer PC.

There's really no difference in performance from workstation vs regular, they're pretty much the same exact thing. The main difference is ecc ram and some workstations cpus have the advantage of supporting multiple cpus on one mobo.

I'd suggest posting in the new build, prebuilt, or laptop area with the appropriate form so we may help you pick or build a computer.
