Hello guys

I need help with my gaming pc. It keeps crashing on me. But the strange thing is that its doesnt crash when im playing game(cs:go for now idk if its the same for other games) sometime it does but it crashes less when im just playing but when im on windows like using browser it crashes

so when it crashes it sometime freezes with lines, and some time it goes blue screen and crash dump.. pc is new, build it myself every part is new. And OS IS WIN7 PRO 64BIT

MB:Asrock h97m anniversary
Ram:8gb
Cpu intel i5 4590
Power evga600b
Gpu: xfx r9 285

blue screen crashes are almost always driver related. Occasionally they're faulty hardware related; that said lets eliminate the software first.

1) forgive me for asking but you said your OS is win7 pro. That's a strange OS for someone to just buy, it has features almost no one uses in a home environment, and is typically sold only through an OEM like dell. is it a legit copy of windows? cause bootleg copies can have issues

2) is windows 100% updated?

3) check the device manager for devices labled with a yellow !, make sure you download the right drivers and fix them

4) uninstall your gpu drivers and all Catalyst Control Center related software, download the latest amd drivers, reboot your system and install the latest amd drivers

5) download memtest86, remove all but one stick of ram, create a bootable USB device to put memtest86 on, and boot from it. let memtest86 do 10 passes or so on that one stick of ram, power down your system, plug in the other stick of ram and repeat. if memtest fails just once let me know. memtest should never fail on good ram or ram that is set up with the right settings in the bios.

lets start with this. let me know how it goes.
