Hello firstly I would like to point out that I'm a newbie to the PC upgrading scene.

I recently bought an Asus geforce gt630 2gb from PC world as I wanted to upgrade my system so that I could play newer games. I disconnected all cables out of the back and made sure to earth myself as I was changing the cards over.

I also formatted my PC so no previous graphics drivers were installed and then installed new graphics card drivers, on restarting the PC it booted up to the windows logo then stops dead, tried putting into safe mode and just says please wait and won't go past that point.

My PC is fairly old so I'm just wondering if possibly my motherboard is too old or if I'm missing something out.

My motherboard is a winfast 6100k8ma, and phenom 9500 quad core processor and 3gb of ddr2 sdram, I also have a 500 watt power supply installed.I also formatted my PC so no previous graphics drivers were installed and then installed new graphics card drivers, on restarting the PC it booted up to the windows logo then stops dead, tried putting into safe mode and just says please wait and won't go past that point.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem is? Many thanks

I have just noticed that the minimum required power to run the card is 12v at 40 amps but my PSU only gives out 12v at 36 amps, could this be the problem?
