Hi, I've got some problems with starting up my computer the first time of the day.

When I turn on my computer on, on the next day, I plug my pc and monitor on the wall and then put the switch on the back of my PSU on. Then I push the start button on my case and that's it.

But then after a minute or so, my computer screen turns into a random color and freezes, either it's a solid color or otherwise just a bugged screen that looks like it's smashed. The only way ti fix it is hard shut down my pc by holding the button 5 sec down. Then I start it up again and it works for the rest of the day, no matter how many times I restart it, keeps working. But when I don't use it for lets say 8 hours, it might crash even though it's still pluged in, not like when I completely turn of the PSU etc.

I already know if it's going to happen because weird enough, my RGB keyboard starts cycling through all the colors like it does when not detected but haring power. Otherwise it's just the solid red color I gave it.

I'm running on Windows 10 Pro and I've builded my pc myself. It might be something to do with the GPU? Because before I used the intel graphics through HDMI, now I use displayport on the back of my asus strix 980ti.

My specs in case it's handy:

MOBO: asus maximus viii hero
CPU: intel 6700k
RAM: 32gb 3000Mhz DDR4 corsair vegeance.
GPU: Asus Strix 980ti
samsung 850 Pro 256gb SSD
Western digital 2tb black
PSU: corsair hx1000i
CPU cooler: corsair hx110i GTX (watercooling)
Monitor: Asus Rog Swift PG279Q
OS: Windows 10 PRO 64bit

1. Remove, Clean, re-fix Graphics card, Change the display port on your Graphics card, if this does not work ...
2. Change the Display cable and try, preferably, try different one, i.e if you are using HDMI, use DVI connection or VGA connection or any different connection apart from the usual connection you are using

If problem still exists,

Just to identify problem,

3. You remove GTX 980 for time being and use on board graphics and check, if you still get problem, then we should investigate further based on the results of 3 above said things

What he said. Eliminate the card as a whole, or the DisplayPort connection.

1) Attempt to eliminate the possibility of the GPU card/Display Port/cable by going back to the onboard over HDMI. Use it for at least a couple days, keep it on etc. to see if the issue goes away.

2) Attempt to eliminate DisplayPort by using HDMI. Your card has HDMI and DVI. Are there any issues with those connections?

Ok thanks, there should not be any problem with the cables, but on the side of the graphics card: I have the Asus Strix 980ti and that card has 3 fans. It's quite heavy and it sort of bends the card including the slot. The card isn't hanging perfectly straight, horizontal. I looked it up but it's common to heavy aftermarket cards to bend a little, that's where the backplate is for to minimize bending. But I still think that might be the issue as it could be hanging out the slot?
