PC doens't turn off and nothing on monitor.

So recently, my computer has been behaving oddly. After leaving it on for a bit, I would come back to find that that there was nothing on the monitor. At first I thought that the computer was in sleep mode, so I would move the mouse around. However; nothing came on the screen. So then I would try to turn it off by pressing the power button. Again, nothing happened. The computer wouldn't turn off. So I tried restarting it by pressing the reset button. I could hear the fans change speed, indicating that it restarted, but nothing came on the monitor. So I unplugged the computer, waited and plugged the cable back in, and turned it on. Then it started booting up as usual. Then I went back to using it, then after I left the computer on for a bit and came back the same thing happened. What's causing this and how can I fix this?
