I just got 8gbs of g-skill ripjaws 1600mHz ram. Before, i was running 8gbs of 1333mhz ram. I got this so i can run 16gb of ram at 1333 with both kits or just the 8 at 1600. When i installed the new ram, i just added it to what i had so it would be 16gb but only 8gb showed up on the pc. When it was just the ripjaws ram, my pc wouldn't boot. It got power but didn't send anything to my displays. I tried running one stick then two and changing their positions with only the ripjaws but every time it did the same thing.
My pc:
MSI 970 Gaming Mobo
AMD FX 8320

Never mix ram, most of the time it doesn't work.

I am an idiot.. Thanks for the replies, I'm not too inexperienced, I've been working on pc's a while but appearently one of the dimms wasn't seated and it wasn't booting. I actually think there is more to the story but whatever, It's fixed.
