Question PC freezes when closing Steam games installed on external SSD ?

Hey guys,
since recently my PC permanently freezes when closing steam games running from my external SSD. During gameplay, everything is fine and the problem only occurs when running games from the external SSD on steam. If i run the games internally or externally from another client like GOG, Epic etc. everything is fine.
The external SATA SSD is connected via A Sabrent SATA to USB3-Connector.
I have alread done checkdisk, reinstalled steam, updated all drivers, checked power settings, nothing helped.

Windows 11 Pro
Ryzen 7800X3D
Powercolor Radeon RX 7900 XTX
MSI Pro B650-P WIFI

External Hard Drives
External hard drives are not recommended for use with Steam or Steam's games. If you encounter this issue with an external drive, install Steam and your games to an internal drive instead.

its not you, its steam. Better to use an internal drive.

I am basically aware of the fact that external drives can cause issues.
I have been using the very same PC however for months without any problems.
