pc freezes while gaming, and now no display (gpu, psu, or motherboard which one is dead?)

i was playing dota2 (not really graphic intesive game).. suddenly my pc freeze so i restarted immidiately to go back in the game.. however my monitor wont show display my pc fans are spinning fine, case, keyboard, mouse led lights blinking fine.. but no display to monitor.. i plugged my vga cable to built in motherboard. and its perfectly working fine.. so i assume my amd hd7950 gpu is damaged.. but i tried my another low profile gpu 9600gt still no display. i also tried other pcie 2.0 slot, still both gpu shows no display.. i dont know which one is damaged. pcie slot?( which is wierd 2 pcie slot didnt work both ), gpu?, motherboard?, or psu? i hope you help me

when you tried the other gpus, did you plug the vga cable to them?Or you left the cable to your built in vga?

ofcourse i plugged my vga monitor to gpu (i removed the built-in)... i've been using my pc for about 4+ years now. and this is the first time it happens.. hope u guys help me

i would try a new psu, maybe it is not giving the power to the gpus. Borrow one if you can

heres update my 9600gt finally sucessfully booted up on pcie 3.0 slot,, BUT after loading to windows start up opened up some programs. like browsers, monitor suddenly shows no signal. i think after windows start up right after 30sec-1min my monitor got no display..... do u guys think its psu? wierd because i can actually do normal stuffs gaming,rendering. etc. with my built in graphic (intel hd4600)... but no signal everytime i use gpu. even low profile gpu (
96 Watts not really power intenstive)

all the gpus you tried had some kind of 6 pin or 8 pin connector for power? These problems are solved by trying, at the time trying a new psu is the most logical thing to me.

I agree with slyverine. Bud, if you can borrow a psu from a friend, I'd do that first. However speaking of your psu, it's not the best in the land. Check out where it's posted on the Tom's Hardware psu tier list.

and still not display from both gpu.... im running out of money... could it be the memory ram is the culprit? does bad ram affect gpu to boot up?
wierd because my pc is perfectly fine with built-in vga, memory ram. psu,...

Yeah, it can. I'm assuming you know how to test ram, if not, it's easy. Remove all your ram except one stick and start it up and task it a little bit. You can leave a stick in there but you'd need to number or mark it to identify which one you tested. Good Luck.
-I've worked on a computer where a worm (virus) reached the bios software and one in the registry that hosed Windows. But if you changed the board, you shouldn't see this unless it got transferred from cloning or folder recovery in the SSD or HHD. Never the less, here's how you run a deep scan with your anit-virus program.
-Start by running a virus scan with your closed folders open. Control Panel>File Explorer Options>View>check show hidden files and folders>uncheck Hide empty drives & Hide extensions for known file types.>click Apply and then OK. Close File Explorer and run a full Virus scan then a spyware scan and a malware scan. Then go back to File Explorer Options and close the hidden files, folders, and check Hide empty drives and Hide extensions for know file types.
The problem with virus/spyware/malware scans is they sometimes can't see root or worm infections unless Windows files and folders are open.
-Monitor has a weakening inverter can't produce high end gpu graphics. Switch the monitor with a known good one to test.
-Are the cables used to test the video card the same cables used to test the board video? For instance DVI to DVI, not VGA to VGA? While you're at it, try swapping your cables, too. Cabling does get damaged every now and then. I had some cables that were made for another psu and didn't have the same pin set up. That was a weird nightmare.
-If the problem persist, you may have to take to a computer shop and have them run a diagnostic test (stress test). To buy a diagnostic kit it'll cost $350.00 so it's much cheaper to have the shop check it out. Have them look at the monitor, too.
