Hello,
My PC is a newly built pc with a pny xlr8 dual fan 1070 I picked up from best buy. When I test the GPU, it always will freeze after about 20 minutes in MSI Kombustor and Furmark. The card itself is factory overclocked and I haven't changed anything on the card. When the gpu freezes during a game, I can still hear SOUND from the game. It can run games that don't stress the gpu at 99% fine like DOOM.
I ran a memory test for my ram and no issues were detected. The CPU which is a 1300x passes prime95. I run the gpu benchmarks with the cpu at stock speeds for stability. The psu is a EVGA 500w 80+. I am thinking it could be the cheap psu or maybe the gpu is defective. Temperatures are fine with the gpu hitting at max 76 C. I already uninstalled and installed the latest drivers. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Parts list

MSI b350 gaming pro

ryzen 1300x

pny xlr8 dual fan 1070

EVGA 500w 80+

Corsair Vengeance 2400mhz LPX ram

WD 1 tb and pny 120gb ssd

The ram is running at 2667mhz. What would cause the freezes in the ram settings? I am leaning more towards the psu or gpu being the issue so I am just curious?

Do you know or have any recommendations for a reliable power supply for the system?
