Hello, and thank you for your time. I have an HP Phoenix H9-1350. Only difference with mine and factory specs are I only have a 256GB 850 Pro installed and i upgraded the GPU to an XFX R9 280x. Today, I was downloading some files and an error popped up stating "action couldn't be performed" due to an I/O error. I restarted my PC and Windows 8.1 wouldn't boot. I put in the Windows DVD and tried to boot from DVD so I could do a system restore, but I couldn't get it to work. After several restarts, now my PC power light is blinking amber which, upon further investigation, means my PSU is done? Can anyone help me with this please? Thanks in advance!

My PC won't even start now. Just a flashing amber light on the power button and some beeping noises 🙁

this PSU/GPU combo for over a year have day by day probably worn out the Psu ..... i think .....
my suggestion is : buy a quality Psu ..... Seasonic Xfx or else with 80 plus or 80 plus bronze (at least) certification ....

I'm on the egg searching for one right now...ugh, if it isn't one thing it's another...I jut don't understand how I go from a an I/O error to my PC being stuck on the HP screen to the power light flashing amber in a matter of 30 minutes. The green light on the PSU itself is a solid green.

The green light is solid on the PSU...I don't think that's the problem. I'm gonna try disconnecting everything and hooking it back up later to see if that helps....Also, two things i just remembered. When my PC was trying to repair itself, it went to a blue screen with a sad face.and atvthe bottom there was a bad system config message. Secondly, through my troubleshooting steps I found online, I disabled fast boot....idk if that means anything, but the power light started beeping and blinking after that

Are you trolling me? Did you even read my OP? I wasn't playing any games. I was downloading some music and shopping and my file was almost downloaded, then an I/O error popped up.
