So for a while now I've been dealing with a problem with my PC where it has issues connecting to web pages and game servers and things. I did my fair share of reading online to see what I could come up with and all the things I have tried did not work for me. So basically my PC can connect to servers and websites just fine for a while after I reset my modem. After about, give or take, 8-10 hours it starts acting up again, forcing me to restart my modem again. When it is having these issues if a page isn't loading I can try to keep refreshing and sometimes it gets through, other times the connection just times out and it doesn't load at all. Now in my research to find a solution to this problem the most common thing that I kept finding is it being a firewall issue or a issue with ports, but after turning my firewall completely off, it changed nothing and the problem persists and I've never changed anything with ports. On top of that all the other devices in my household have had no issues like my PC is having.

So just a day ago I decided since I could not figure out what the cause of it was, I would just reinstall a fresh install of Windows. I wanted to clean up my computer anyways so it wasn't that big a deal, but here's the crazy thing, after formatting my hard drive and putting a fresh install of windows on the computer, I am still having the same connection issues! I thought for sure a fresh install would fix it but I was wrong and now I'm at my wit's end on what to do. I fear it could be a hardware issue, which would be way beyond me. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

open command prompt, run ipconfig, look for the IP address of your default gateway, most likely something like 192.168.0.1, make a note of the IP address.
wait until the problem occurs, open command prompt again and ping the ip address of the default gateway, example: ping 192.168.0.1
if you get replies go ahead and ping 8.8.8.8
let us know the results.

Ok I just had to restart the modem so I could even get on this website, so here in about 8-10 hours I'll be able to try the stuff in cmd, thank you for replying too

So after the problem started happening again I tried pinging the default gateway like you said and out of 4 packets sent it received 0. Each time it tried pinging it came back with Request timed out. I also tried pinging the 8.8.8.8 gateway and got the same results

Also these tests so far have been on a wired connection with a Ethernet cable connected directly to my PC from my modem. I also have a wireless USB stick that I used to use so I thought I'd try it just to see. After disconnecting the Ethernet cable and plugging in the USB stick, it seemed my connection issues were gone, however I still tried that same ping test's in CMD and pinging my default gateway gave the same results, however when pinging 8.8.8.8 it pinged 100% of the time with no timeouts

sounds like your modem is failing. luckily modems are cheap you can get a nice brand new one for 30 - 40 bucks.

edit. you said other devices in your household don't have this problem . . . .so you may have to replace the NIC on your PC, luckily they are even cheaper than modems

Yes the modem we have now was just replaced about a month ago and as far as a NIC goes, my PC don't have one, I connect the Ethernet cable directly into the motherboard.... So does that mean the NIC portion of my motherboard is the problem? And if so then that means I need a new motherboard? Also I have seen USB adapters that you can plug Ethernet cables into, if indeed my motherboards Ethernet port is causing the issue, would one of there adapters help?

Also now that I'm thinking about it, if my motherboard has a NIC built-in, would my USB wireless adapter use that for me to be getting internet at all? Since the last reset my modem has been up for 24 hours and I'm still connected to it via the USB adapter, but I'm still having connection issues using it as well. Also after some time I tried pinging to my default gateway and the 8.8.8.8 again and got the same results as when I tried with the wired connection, each time it pinged it timed out

These are my specs to any that might be able to help:

AMD Radeon R7 360
Windows 7 (Service Pack 1) (64 bit)
8 GB RAM
Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-4330 CPU @ 3.50GHz
ASUS B85M-G Micro ATI motherboard

My problem still persists and I am still looking for a solution. I am almost positive that the "NIC" portion of my PC is not the issue as I can use my wireless USB adapter and the same issue happens after about 10 hours of my modem being on. If anyone can offer more things I could possibly try or any ideas at all of why this problem is happening I'd be very grateful
