Question Pc is powered on, but monitor reads no signal and mouse and keyboard are both not connected

I was doing some updates on my pc earlier today, upgrading from a Ryzen 3 1200 CPU to a Ryzen 5 3600. Everything was working alright before, I would occasionally have issues with the monitor saying no signal but I could usually just restart the computer a few times and the problem would go away. Now though, the PC will power on for a second, power off for a second, and then power back on, but the monitor says no signal and the mouse and keyboard won't power on.

I've check the mouse on a different pc and it works fine, I tried restarting the computer a few times, removing and then reinstalling the RAM drive a few times, as well as loosening the screws in the CPU fan in case I screwed them in too tight, and so far no change. Any idea what could be wrong?

Graphics Card: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1050 Ti
PSU: Thermaltake Smart 80 Plus 600 Watts
Motherboard: MSI A320M Pro-VH Plus
Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda Hard Drive ST1000DM010 1TB
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600
RAM: OLOy 8GB 288-Pin DDR4

if you never updated the bios before the install of the ryzen 5 3600 then that would explain instability as the board doesnt have that micro code if you still have the ryzen 3 1200 put that cpu back in the board and boot it up. if the pc comes back on youve avoided damage otherwise you may have bricked your board.

if the pc boots with the 3 1200 you will need to update your bios latest version

after the bios update the pc will most likely not boot with the 3 1200 and should be safe to switch the cpu back to ryzen 5 3600.

also that power supply is one of the worse its fine for that system but i would upgrade it to something better as its not a reliable unit.

Thank you so much, this worked perfectly! Thankfully the board was still working and was able to run the new CPU after updating. Do you have any suggestions for a new power supply?

Perfect, thanks for the suggestions!

no problem one upgrade suggestion for better stability gameplay etc

if your upgrading your system piece meal

id go
power supply

ram below

motherboard ( b550 opens up your board to faster storage and pci gen 4 which is used for most newer graphic cards it will also work with the ryzen 5 3600 out of the box).

gpu wise depends on your tastes nvidia to me gives better visual quality and driver support where amd gives better performance for price.

2 gpus i recomend these days if your case can fit the amd one.

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/WH...070-super-12-gb-video-card-vcg4070s12dfxpb1-o

either way i recomend the ram upgrade for a boost in performance especially if your ram is only 1 stick as this will make most games run smoother.

any questions you can pm me if you run into any other issues.
