Over the past week my PC has begun to soft lock itself. It starts with my headset making a sound like it disconnects, then anything I'm doing becomes relatively unresponsive. I can still minimize/maximize programs and drag program windows around. I cannot start any programs, nothing I click responds to it. Even pressing restart/shut down on windows doesn't respond. Resetting my PC fixes this, but it seems to happen every couple of days now.

Windows 10
RTX 3080 oc'd
i7-5820k oc'd
NZXT c850W PSU
MSI SLI Plus x-99a motherboard

To note, this first happened AFTER I had originally had a crash while playing a game that hard locked my PC, when I reset windows repaired my C: drive, but it said it was successful. I partially think it may be my processor giving out, it's been overclocked for a few years now. Though it often does this while under minimal load, such as just browsing the internet. Just hoping this may be something someone has seen before or knows more about.

hdd or ssd? check the health?
check cpu/gpu temp?
Windows is on an SSD, temps are fine, I tend too keep a close eye on them. I keep most of my programs on a separate SSD to not induce drive death from too many reads and writes on the C: drive. Temps never hit more than 80c for CPU/GPU mid 70's tops. Health report for my drives also check out, all seems good.

Well, dropping my CPU overclock by 100 MHz seems to have fixed the problem. I guess it was a bit of a CPU degradation. Maybe if I posted it on the overclocking portion of the forums. Hope this may help someone else in the future... even though it was a failed overclock, my PC never once blue screen crashed.
